There are traditionally two types of electric bicycles. These are commonly referred to as "power-on-demand" electric bicycles, and "power-assist" electric bicycles. Power-on-demand ebikes do not require the option to manually pedal the vehicle, although this capability is provided. Power-assist ebikes require manual pedaling, assisted by the electric motor as desired, or required by the operator, for example, to surmount a steep grade, or simply make pedaling easier after a long ride. Veloteq hybrid electric bicycles are constructed of aluminum alloy. The rugged frames, rims, pedals and pedal arms, stands, racks and accessories are light weight and corrosion resistant, insuring many years of trouble free use. The rapid recharge Lithium Ion battery weighs only slightly over six pounds. The Osprey City Ebike features a cushioned gel seat, front end dual hydraulic shock absorbers, and front and rear disc brakes to insure safe stopping under all road conditions. it is capable of up to 30 miles of travel with minimal pedal assistance or 12 miles using power only. |
